Moscow has gone out of its way to celebrate the festive season this year. The New Year decorations were hung in early November, long before any Christmas illuminations were to be lit in the centre of European cities and towns. Apparently, the idea was to improve people’s mood amidst the current events. And I suppose this attempt was rather successful.
